Botanicals Packaging Design Series 2021
Vitamin Packaging
The structure of the capsule design is intuitive for consumers, as the packaging shape informs the product and the contents. The layout of the packaging is also very easily interchangeable based on the vitamin contents. For example, to create collagen tablet packaging, the producer should simply change the background colour to pink, alter the floral illustrations and adjust the type based on the vitamins qualities.
Alcohol Bottle and Glass
The colour of the alcohol bottle is subject to the contents and type of alcohol. This is an example of a “Lemon & Rose Vodka” bottle.
The floral illustrations are cohesive with the vitamin packaging, and the use of different fruit illustrations should reflect the alcohol flavouring. The intention of the packaging is to create high quality glass bottles and glasses to encourage consumers to keep, re-use and re-purpose the glassware. The faded outline surrounding the upper half of the bottle is where a clear sticker (with printed design) will cover in order to hold the glass and bottle together securely for transport and display. The pyramid shaped lid is purposefully, slightly, darker in order for viewers to identify that there are two separate forms, the glass bottle and the glass cup, without disrupting the hierarchy of information. The lid is shaped as a pyramid in order to fit ‘flush’ with the two forms. The lid is a screw top lid, it is integral the lid be of high quality as well, in order to encourage consumers to keep the bottle also.
