The Andante Collection
During the University course ‘Commercial Textile Design’ I created a series of rug designs. The rugs were conceptually designed for the location Phoenix Central Park. ‘Nostalgia’, was selected by Designer Rugs as one of four of the most outstanding rugs, which is available at Designer Rugs for purchase.
The unsaturated and soft lavender and violet tones compliment the concrete, long linear bricks and timber palette, bringing subtle colour to the primarily neutral toned space. The rugs feature layering of expressive mark making, abstract and continuous line work combined with digital colouring. I designed the collection as a means to compliment and allude to the existing high quality arts in the Phoenix Central Park building. Each rug is named after a different aspect of art featured at the Phoenix Central Park, music, dance, drama and artworks.
